There is considerable difference of opinion in the Netherlands about the success or otherwise of the integration of migrants in Dutch society. Many argue that integration has failed, while others believe it is progressing well. This booklet shows that neither view is correct. It presents ten trends in integration, which reveal enormous diversity in the outcomes of the integration process. This makes it impossible to say whether integration is a success or failure. Progress is being made, but there is also stubborn disadvantage and considerable problems. For an accurate assessment of the integration of non-Western ethnic minority groups, both sides need to be taken into account.
