Original title: Rapportage jeugd 2000.

The emphasis in the Report on the Young 2000 (Rapportage Jeugd 2000) is on events and situations which occur in the transition from youth to adulthood. There is an impression that the changes that have taken place in Dutch society in recent decades have had a major influence on the way in which young people of today grow up. The increased opportunities in virtually all areas of life, it is argued, mean that young people develop into independent adults in a different way from in the past. This report looks at a wide range of areas to explore how today's younger generation achieve independence and to what extent this has changed.

This report is part of the National Youth Monitor (Landelijke Jeugdmonitor), as part of which the Netherlands Institute for Social Research/SCP and Statistics Netherlands (CBS) publish a report every two years.
