Original title: Digitalisering van de leefwereld.
Innovations in the field of communication and information have followed on from each other in rapid succession in recent decades, in what has been called an information revolution. Different groups in the population benefit in different ways from these developments. The growing importance of information and the potentially differing skills in using the new technology can create or exacerbate social inequalities. This report explores this social inequality in the availability of modern information and communication technology (ICT) in Dutch households. It looks first at the distribution and use of ICT products, then goes on to explore differences in the ownership and use of these products between different population groups. Finally, it presents an explanation of the differences found.
