Original title: Ouders over opvoeding en onderwijs.
The position of parents with regard to children' education has been changing in recent years: the government believes that they should have a major influence on what happens at their children's school, and also that parents and schools should cooperate more on the education of their children. The government also favours a strengthening of the free school choice of parents. The views of parents on these issues are not known, however.
This publication explores the views of parents on education. What are their goals with regard to their children's education, and what do they think about the division of roles between school and family? What judgments do parents make when choosing a school, and what obstacles do they encounter here? The report also looks at what parents want and expect from the education system, and how they view the quality of the education on offer.
