Original title: Poolse migranten
This report discusses the position of Poles who have migrated to the Netherlands since 2004 and who are entered in the population register. The report looks at their position on the labour and housing markets, their sociocultural position (e.g. command of the Dutch language, extent of social contacts with other Poles and with natives) and their health status. The report is based largely on information from a survey of 600 Polish respondents. Information was also obtained from them to ascertain whether they intended to remain in the Netherlands for an extended period or whether they planned to return to Poland in the near future.
This study was carried out at the request of the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, Directorate-General for Housing, Communities and Integration.
Jaco Dagevos is head of the Education and Minorities research group at SCP. His research interests are in the integration of migrant groups in the Netherlands.
