Data sources

In carrying out its research, SCP analyses information drawn from a wide range of databases:

  • Longitudinal series of population surveys from Statistics Netherlands (CBS) on subjects such as health and wellbeing, employment, education and expenditure;

  • Longitudinal series of surveys funded wholly or partly by SCP and focusing on:
    - use of facilities and services (Amenities and Services Utilization Survey (AVO));
    - time budgets (Time Use Survey (TBO)):
    - cultural opinions (Cultural Changes in the Netherlands survey (CV));

  • International surveys (European Social Survey, Eurobarometer, International Social Survey Programme (ISSP));

  • Institutional data (hospitals, schools);

  • Data for ad hoc projects (at-risk young people, opinions on social security, environmental behaviour);

  • Demographic data.
